Canberra Equine Hospital

Description of position:

Equine Veterinarian – Full Time or Part Time

Come and join a team with well-established and long-standing relationships in the Capital’s equine community.

We are looking for a full time or part time equine veterinarian to support our team. Currently the Canberra Equine Hospital is a stable team of three equine veterinarians and support staff.  Our fully equipped vehicles support a wide range of ambulatory practice while our hospital facility also gives us the opportunity to treat horses requiring further care in-hospital.  Our hospital is purpose built and equipped for further diagnostics and treatment.

Canberra and the surrounding region has a large equine population with great diversity; from a well-cared for aging population to high level performance horses in all disciplines. Our services include, but are not limited to general care for all types of horses, dentistry, lameness, reproduction, emergency and after-hours services. We also have a surgery and anaesthetic set up to facilitate all types of surgeries for our patients. Our veterinarians all have special interests, and we actively encourage continuous education that allows for great medicine and patient care.

The position would suit an enthusiastic equine veterinarian who would like to develop their skills further by building relationships with our clients & patients in the field and hospital. Our vets are supported by experienced equine nurses at all times, both in hospital and on ambulatory call outs.  New graduates or those completing an internship are welcome to apply for the position. A flexible position is available that will include a share of the after hours weekends & nights on call.

Feel free to check out our Facebook to meet the team: www.facebook.com/CanberraEquineHospital

To be considered for the position you must be able to demonstrate:

  • Ideally a minimum of 2 -3 years PQE as an Equine Veterinarian, however recent graduates with an equine background will be considered.
  • A sense of humour and a desire to share in our commitment to high quality patient care.

Sounds great! How do I apply?
